A carpenter has tools.
A seamstress has tools.
An artist has tools.
A writer has tools.
A chef has tools.
This week I would like you to think about the topic of tools. Write about a 'tool group.' Or an individual tool. What tools do you use in your daily life? Do you have a favorite? One that is most used? Perhaps one that has a history? One or more that intimidate you? How about an ode to a tool?
Use your imagination, your creativity! And after you have posted your link below (and written a comment), visit some of the other poems of those who have linked. Come back a few times in the week to see who is new. And if you are a later poster, visit poets who have posted before you; and hopefully they will return the visit. Let's build a community. Thanks for 'jamming' with us!

ReplyDeletenice...i am back....continuing my NYC trip from last week with a little more poetic prose...with a sprinkling of tools from artists and transportation...
ReplyDeleteI had fun with this one, thanks, Mary! :)
ReplyDeleteGood prompt Mary. One that inspired me on a night I thought I did not have it in me to write! Thank you very much!
ReplyDeleteSeems that the very best way to get the very best painting is to start with great thoughts and feelings...The paint will do the rest most of the time. Now to write poems....that also must just be there because it is not as easy to get words to do the "painting". That is why this Poetry Jam page is so good for me. It forces me to aim at a subject or at least turn the subject around and upside down and inside out to find a way to get at a poem right then that day at that moment in time...cool!
ReplyDeleteGood prompt - fun to think about tools.
ReplyDeleteI took a bit of a twist on the prompt... Hope that is OK. (My "tools" are usually my hands... folding laundry, doing dishes, changing diapers). So, I went with antique bits of tools I saw on a most recent trip ... Thanks for hosting and sorry to get this in SO late. :)
