June seems to be a month that is made for celebrations, whether talking about a June wedding, a graduation, or merely a child thankful to see the end of another school year. There is much in life to celebrate, even if occasionally we need to look a bit harder to find it.
This week I'd like you write about a celebration, whether large or small. I've also included a few quotes to help inspire you, as well as a bit of a musical treat from Kool and the Gang. So pick your celebration, and let the party begin!
Stop worrying about the potholes in the road and celebrate the journey! ~~ Barbara Hoffman
The more you praise and celebrate your life, the more there is in life to celebrate. ~~ Oprah Winfrey
How important it is for us to recognize and celebrate our heroes and she-roes! ~~ Maya Angelou
Don’t forget to invite the other Jammers to read your contribution by signing up with Mr. Linky. Please remember to mention Poetry Jam in your post. And be sure to visit with the other poets who participate in this prompt and help us celebrate poetry!

Welcome to the party everyone! And it totally figures, I tried to construct a prompt that would help push me toward writing a happy poem for a change and ended up with some cynical and depressing...again. Looking forward to seeing what everyone else comes up with for this!
ReplyDelete*something, not some...wow, the typos are just flowing for me tonight lol.
Deletecome on over to see me, Mary I think you'll get your smile on
DeleteGood prompt, Mary M. I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone writes too. Reminder: Please visit others who post links. It's more fun that way, for all.
ReplyDeleteYes, excellent June prompt Mary M. I posted two since I realized the one I wrote yesterday also was about a celebration and I wrote the newer one today. I hope one day lapse is not too old!

ReplyDeleteThis prompt was good for me, helped me focus in on my current experience of quiet celebration in continuing life. It will be interesting to see what others do - I've enjoyed the variety of the poems I've read already. I'm really trying to get back to regular posting here and in my blog. I hope I don't let myself down this time.
ReplyDeleteI never know where these prompts will take me, all I know is that every one of them makes me so happy!
ReplyDeleteCome on over and share a reason for smiling.
Thank you Mary M and all at PJ :)
ReplyDeleteLiked the prompt so much (and the Kool and the Gang video) that I quickly scribbled down a wee tribute to last week's Olympic torch relay which passed near our home in Scotland.
ReplyDeleteThis prompt came at a time when I really had something to celebrate!
